LARNACA CITY
One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
With its 400 berth marina, Larnaca is also a favorite destination for visitors with yachts. Land based tourists enjoy the palm lined harbor promenade and the city's international shops, including cafes and panoramic ocean views.
- DISTRICT MUSEUM: It contains an interesting collection of antiquities found in the Larnaca area, dating from the Neolithic to the Roman periods.
- ANCIENT KITION: It features the remains of five temples dating back to the 13th century BC.
- CHURCH OF AYIOS LAZAROS: It has been devoted to St Lazarus.
NICOSIA CITY
Capital of the Republic of Cyprus
It is the old city, which is surrounded by a 16th-century wall built by the Venetians, is filled with museums and fine old churches that reveal the depth of the island's history and culture.
- OLD CITY WALLS: The walls that completely encompass the Old City date from the Venetian occupation in the 16th century, and have a circumference of three miles.
- CYPRUS ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM: It was established to collect, study and display archaeological art facts from all over the island.
- ST JOHN'S CATHEDRAL : The Cathedral’s prize features are the iconostasis of carved wood covered with gold leaf, and the magnificent double-headed eagles.
